This is my “most Asked” Question:Â I need a trampoline workout to lose weight!
Or
can I lose weight using my trampoline?
So, How do you use your trampoline for a workout?
Trampoline… with EFFORT. Lazily ‘bopping’ up and down is probably the SLOWEST way to lose weight on your trampoline. Give some “Umpf!”. This is a Workout!
Start with 2 minutes of Jumping, getting some height and flexing your muscles for control. Then run through some simple tricks such as, tuck jump, straddle jump and pike jump. Half twists and Full twists.
If you know how, try some seat drops, front drops and back drops.
Total about 5 minutes of practicing these moves. Then do 10 minutes of a pre-learned routine using the trampoline skills you know.
That’s just a 17 minute Trampoline Workout.
To give an idea how effective this can be, I asked my friend, a single mum of three, to try this twice a day for 3 weeks. Due to a bad knee, she could do very little, and has never used a trampoline before. She lost 5 kilo! (1/3 of a stone).
At this point, let me just dispel some ‘myths’ .
Can a Trampoline Workout give you muscely calves and thighs?
Trampolining certainly tones, not just your legs, but your entire body. Build muscle? No! It is a cardiovascular exercise, and extensive, professional use will give you an ‘athletic’ looking body.
I have a bad back/knees so I can’t use a trampoline.
While I would be MAD to suggest using a trampoline if you have injuries, I might point out that you can make your trampoline workout as gentle or as physical as you decide. Light bouncing can actually help the muscles which support the back and knees. What’s more, strong core strength and tummy muscles can really assist with posture and relieve the strain on the back.
Your Trampoline Workout is a CORE STRENGTH workout. There is no particular strain on the back or knees - in fact the trampoline is much gentler on these areas compared to jogging and other effective exercise.
My “insides” hurt, it must be damaging me!
I get many emails complaining of ‘face ache’ and ‘aching inside the body’, from people convinced their liver and kidneys are being juggled about inside their body!
This aching is the same as your legs aching after an aerobic exercise. It is PROOF that a trampoline workout actually exercises the organs of your body, and the facial muscles too. This aching will subside and your will be healthier than ever - and you will have a mini-face lift too!
There are so many reasons to begin a trampoline workout as the effects are multi-faceted.
