Online Trampoline Coach Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I have bought your DVD and was told that I have access to the "Members Only Area" of Online-Trampoline-Coach but I can't find the website.

A. You can log in to the members area by clicking here. You will need your login name and password that came with your DVD to access the Videos and PDF's.  If you have any problem logging in t the members area you can use the "Contact" link on any page on this website and I will attempt to help you.

Q.  Can you teach me somersaults on the trampoline?

A.  Well yes I can, but without standing by your side, this is very worrying. I decided to include somersaults in my course, simply because so many want to learn these.  You need to ensure you can complete all the other moves very well first. And you need a 'helper' to get you over a back somersault.

Q. Is it safe for me to do trampoline somersaults?

A.Provided you have learned all the basic moves very well and are doing the moves "at the top of your jump". The biggest problem with somersaults is the "chicken out"! If you were my student and you 'chicken out', I am on the trampoline with you, so I can push you round. Without me there with you, this is a risk. If you are scared, or don't feel ready - just don't attempt it yet.

Q. I try and try with some moves, but just can't get them. Why?

A. Some kids get 'fixated' on doing a certain move. There are a lot of Mental aspects to Trampoline skills. If you are trying and trying but getting no-where, you need to stop. Get a friend to watch where you are going wrong (or send me a video and I will tell you).  Go to the previous move, re-learn and then move on to the move you are stuck on.

Q. I can do all the trampoline moves in your course, but can't do the routines. Why?

A. In all honesty, this is because you CAN'T do all the moves in my course PROPERLY.  You need to re-learn, right from the very beginning

Q. Where can I find a trampoline class near me?

A. Look for your local gymnastics club. Gymnastics and Trampolining usually come under just GYMNASTICS.

Q. The Back Drops really hurt my neck. Can I miss this move out?

A. The back drops hurt us all at some point! This is because you are not doing them correctly. Get the mattress (like in my course) and practice getting your hips forward and up. Concentrate on core strength and landing in the exact position. When it stops hurting, you are doing it right. If you miss this move, there are many other moves you will have to miss also.

Q. My kids can do flips and are very good at the Trampoline. What can they learn from your course?

A. Start with plain jumping! I have kids who can do impressive 'tricks' who are just plain dangerous.  Teach your kids to trampoline correctly and they will get much more enjoyment and much fewer bruises!
