You are hot, you desire fun in the sun but want to play in
the water. You can get out your traditional beach balls, sail boats and
snorkel fins or you can have fun at a local lake or pond on a water
trampoline. These wonderfully popular floating trampolines are attractive
to the younger generation and can be found at water parks, recreational
water holes, and at resort hotels.
The water trampoline is a fully functional trampoline that is suspended
several feet above the surface of the water and surrounded by a rubber
"donut". The entire floating trampoline can measure up to 25 feet and
looks very much like a large floating donut in the water.
There are many attachments that can be added to the water trampoline to
bring even more fun to the family. You can use dive towers, water slides,
stairs or plastic logs to climb up and also landing platforms made of
plastic that allow you to launch off the trampoline and onto this landing
platform instead of into the water.
Sizes and Prices:
Water Trampolines are larger than traditional trampolines and have a basic
floating platform.
There are small 10' water trampolines that can range from $500 to $600
U.S.D. and that is without accessories.
There are larger 25' water trampolines that are approximately $4,000 U.S.D.
without accessories.
Water trampolines are not cheap entertainment; which is why usually
communities or entertainment companies provide them. If you are purchasing
one for your lake, they usually take about an hour to set up or take
apart. You will need to purchase a pump, as this is not something to blow
up using your lung capacity. You will also need to anchor it to the bottom
of your lake.
There are two reasons for the immense safety factor of water trampolines
over traditional ones:
They are surrounded by water, which makes for a very soft landing.
They are made of PVC plastic and not metal frames or springs that can
cause injury when excited kids bang against them such as is the experience
with traditional trampolines. Some of the larger water trampolines may
have frames and springs; but they are safer because they are designed to
be not as exposed to the jumper as in the traditional trampolines.
A water trampoline made of 100% PVC material should be able to withstand
changes in temperature. A typical water trampoline will come with a padded
collar, handles and a ladder for easy boarding and safe jumping pleasure.
There are smaller water trampolines called bouncers. These can be stored
in your boat and inflated or deflated within an easy 10 minutes. Bouncers
do not have any frames or anything to assemble. You simply inflate and
enjoy!
Water trampolines are just one more reason for enjoying nature’s lakes and
ponds. Water entertainment cools you off during the heat of the summer.
Local lakes and ponds are more accessible than larger Amusement Parks and
less crowded. Water trampolines are an enjoyable addition to your summer
vacation fun. |
